Review Policy

Hi there!

I am very interested in reviewing books. Most of the books reviewed on this blog are my own personal books, but I would be very pleased to receive ARCS and any new or older books in hardback or paperback form. Unfortunately I will not be able to receive E-books at the moment – possibly in the future though.

I read extensively – for the love of it and sometimes for the challenge of it. However I am prepared to read an average of 4 or 5 books a month. If you send me a book to review I will really try to make sure that I both read and review books sent to me with a month or two of receiving them, however I now have a ‘review pile’ and can basically say that at this point it is on a ‘first come first serve basis’. I post reviews on this blog, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter and Goodreads. My reviews will be as fair and honest as possible. If I receive books from a specific publisher I will make sure to disclose that information on social media such as my Instagram page and on this blog.

My preferred genres include:

  • Horror
  • Thrillers/crime fiction/true crime
  • Contemporary fiction
  • Autobiographies/biographies – mostly limited to people in the entertainment history (musicians, comedians, film, television, etc)
  • Art books (art history, photography, film, writing, screen writing, etc)
  • Poetry
  • Young Adult /Middle grade
  • Science Fiction
  • Fantasy
  • African Diaspora
  • Romance (in small doses)
  • Historical fiction (in small doses)

I will not be able to read/review a book that is a part of a series if I do not own the rest of the series.

So, if you would like me to review a book/s please send me an email at hippiechick85@gmail.com . I will send my mobile number on request.20180721_131437[1]

Thank you so much for going through the trouble of reading through all this and I really hope we will be able to do some business together.

Yours in books,

Meg Orton
